Hyatt // Buy Points 40% Bonus

Hyatt Buy Points Bonus Jan 2015

Hyatt is offering a 40% bonus when purchasing points to those that purchased points in 2014. Buying points outright is usually not a good deal, unless you need some extra points to top off your account for an award or the points purchase price is lower than what you would pay in cash for a room.

Last year, I did purchase Hyatt points when they were offering only a 30% bonus on purchased points. I received a total of 7,800 points for $144 – a cost of 1.85 cents per point. I was then able to use those points to reserve an award night at a property that was charging ~$335 per night! I’ll be sharing more about this in a future post.

For now, check the cash rates and do your own calculations to see if buying Hyatt points makes sense for you. Here are the offer details:

  • Offer available for purchases made between 12:01 am ET January 15, 2015 and ends 11:59 pm ET January 31, 2015.
  • Bonus points will be awarded upon completion of individual transactions.
  • Offer only available when points are purchased for the purchaser’s account.
  • Offer not valid for transactions gifting points.
  • Only purchases made online are eligible for the promotion.
  • Price includes all applicable fees.
  • GST/HST will be charged to Canadian residents.
  • This transaction is completed by Points.com.
  • Purchased points are not refundable and transactions are non-reversible.
  • Purchased points are applicable toward all Hyatt Gold Passport awards.
  • Points purchased using this option will post within 48 hours.
  • Purchased points do not count toward Hyatt Gold Passport elite membership tiers.
